Abstract

This thesis aims at creating a uniform forum for various services in the WWW. The presentation of this forum is realized by means of a three-dimensional city. Various methods for creating this forum are investigated and compared in order to obtain a good as possible acceptance by the users. A utility value analysis shows that the language VRML offers best posibilities for the presentation of the city. The virtual city can be created and it can be ensured that further features and innovations can be integrated with little effort. The city can therefore be adapted to the needs and wishes of the users. It remains of interest for the users also in the long term and can integrate various services of the WWW.

Kurzfassung

Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, für die unterschiedlichsten Angebote im WWW ein einheitliches Forum zu schaffen. Die Darstellung dieses Forums erfolgt als dreidimensionale Stadt. Um eine möglichst gute Akzeptanz durch potientielle Anwender zu erhalten, werden verschiedene Methoden zum Erzeugen dieses Forums untersucht und miteinander verglichen. Mittels einer Nutzwertanalyse erweist sich die Programmiesprache VRML als die beste Darstellungsmöglichkeit. Damit wird die vituelle Stadt erzeugt, wobei dafür gesorgt wirtd, daß Erweiterungen und Neuerungen mit möglichst geringem Aufwand in die Stadt integriert werden können. So kann sich die Stadt den Anforderungen und Wünschen der Anwender anpassen. Damit kann sie langfristig für den Anwender von Interesse bleiben und somit als Forum verschiedene Angebote des WWW integrieren.
