Java Debugging Laboratory Agent (JDLabAgent)

Project description: JDLabAgent is a dynamic link library which can be loaded into the Java Virtual Machine via the Java Virtual Machine Debug Interface (VJMDI). JDLabAgent can be parameterized for monitoring using configuration files. It prints a trace of the JVM events like breakpoints, exceptions, and so on. These events can be used for reconstruction of the control and data flow via the Java Debugging Laboratory Studio (JDLabStudio).

Project News:

February 2006: The project has been moved to https://sourceforge.net/projects/jdlabagent
November 2006: JDLabAgent has won the Sun Solaris University Challenge. It was selected from more than 330 projects from 15 countries.
February 2007: Sun announced the contest winner on the Worldwide Education and Research Conference.

Johannes Wust obtained his BSc in Software Engineering from the Hasso-Plattner-Institute for Software Systems Engineering at the University of Potsdam, Germany. He currently continues his studies at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, towards a Masters degree in Computer Science and attends an additional honours degree program in Technology Management at the Center of Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) in Munich. His research interests focus around development of reliable and usable software. He is especially interested in static and run-time code analysis, usability engineering and software engineering in the automotive domain.

Eiko Büttner is a former student of the Hasso-Plattner-Institute for Software Systems Engineering at the University of Potsdam, Germany. He is currently finishing his master's thesis which deals with automatic logging and reconstruction of Java applications. Currently, he studies medicine at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. Eiko is interested in automatic logging of software, software reliability and in finding new and exciting ways of using software in the medical sector.
